Sunset Time Lapse (with GoPro)

Another cool thing you can do with the GoPro camera is taking Time Lapse photos and create some cool time lapse movies.

Time-lapse photography is basically shooting different photos of the same thing, spread out over a period of time. After joining them all together into a single clip that plays back in  a shorter amount of time, you will get the cool effect of what I call time traveling.

Using this technique you can watch the natural progression of time, without the need of waiting through the actual real length of the process. In the video above we are showing an hour of sunset in just 35 seconds. In this video I placed the GoPro on a tripod, set it up to take a picture every 30 seconds, put it on and came back after the sun was already down.

The next stage was just to put everything together and create the clip. There are a lot of free software out there but I was using Lightroom’s slideshow feature which with the time lapse plugins works perfectly!
